2 questions:
1. i can't remember if when it says "power clean" if that means full squat or not. i think the answer is yes. so this would be a picking up the weight from the floor into a full squat, correct?
2. what's female rxd weight? is it 85% of male weight or 75%? 85% is about 130#. 75% is about 115#. both of those sounds like a whole heckuva lot!
input from kyle or carter or amber? i mean, i know you're supposed to do what you can. i'd like to do as close to rxd as possible...but i need to know what rxd is first.

power clean means power position. so, 1/4 squat. power clean is diff from squat clean. 2 separate movements. from floor to rack in power position, stand it up, set it down and start again.
whatever the appropriate female weight is, it IS a heckuva lot. as is the guy's weight. 155? 21 reps? yeah, in about 10 minutes. if i'm lucky. i'll pry be scaling this one.

thanks man. why can't i EVER get that straight in my head?

power and squat refer to the position you catch them in. power clean = power position. squat clean = squat. i think if it's not specified, it's done with a full squat. have to defer to the boss on that one, though...
who's ready for some power squat cleans? wait. what? now I'm confused.

I watched the video of the power clean and she went from floor to chest area and didn't squat. she jumped under it a little but no squat.

oh. i thought power referred to the position you pick it up, as in power = from the floor and hang = from a hang.
and i thought if it just said "power clean" and didn't specify, it was a full squat.
so if it said "power clean" it meant clean from the floor into full squat.
wait...guess that doesn't make sense. that whole rule about if it doesn't specify means full squat confuses me. let's recap:
if it just says "clean" that means from the floor, full squat.
if it says "power clean" if means from the floor not a full squat.
if it says "hang clean" it means from a hang and not a full squat.
and if it says "hang power clean" is means from a hang and not a full squat?
if it says "hang squat clean" it means from a hang into a full squat.
is this right?
wow...confused as h-e-double hockey sticks right now.

Cori, Hang clean and Hang Squat Clean are the same thing. Hang Power Clean is from hang position into a partial squat on the landing.(power position)
hang refers to a starting position
power and squat refer to landing
positions. The default clean is
the full squat clean. The default
hang clean is the full squat also.
The only time we land in the
power position is when it is
Rx'd as Power for example - Power
Clean. This denotes that you start
from the floor and land in a partial
squat. If it said hang power clean
you would start from a hang position
and land in a partial squat (power
position). When it just says clean
we default to full squat cleans.
