subs, because i know there'll be questions:

HSPU can go 1:1 for inverted belly-to-wall. any other variation of push up is 3:1.

weighted pull ups are a 1:1 sub for any form of pull up. the progression, if you can't do weighted (dead hang) pullups is to do weighted with a kip > dead hang > kipping pull up > assisted with band > jumping pull ups.

see y'all tonight for tons of sweaty fun.

Sri

135 pushups, huh? Now I know how Robyn and Jackie must have felt having to do all those dips Friday. But YAY for weighted pullups!

carter

if one isn't able/comfortable with doing HSPUs, that's something to work on during skills day. then you can get yr HSPU on when it comes up in WODs. otherwise, peeps need help on developing upper body strength. how does one develop upper body strength? in this case, lots of push ups. hence subbing 3:1. preferential treatment is given to those willing to do the belly-to-wall version - that's still 1:1.

BPB

Belly-to-wall version it is; yay for handstand pushups! (And Booo, hiss for weighted pull-ups.)

Robyn

I can't picture how to get to a belly to wall push up, but I think my hspu are acceptable. but, I think what you are saying is that I have to do 42-30-18 pull ups....is that right? or would that be 2:1. Clearly,I was not invited to Mensa or Jeopardy.

carter

close. pushups, if regular pushups, would be 63-45-27.

pullups are 1:1... you just note the version of pullup you do. weighted, kipping, jumping, assisted, etc.

we'll get it straight before the clock starts, i promise...

Robyn

Thanks Teach! I feel better now!
